In the last few weeks a few friends of mine and I have been going through the new Christine Caine book, Stop Acting Like a Christian...Just Be One. I think she is a hilarious, straight-to-the-point writer...and I like it. I just wanted to share a small portion of this book:

"If our physical body has cellulite on it before we become Christians, then even after we've prayed the sinner's prayer, we will still have cellulite (and we will continue to have it until we stop eating those donuts!). In the same way, if our soul is damaged or wounded before we become a Christian, it isn't miraculously "zapped"--we aren't instantly made whole."

This journey we are on is a process, and I liked her humorous twist to explain it. If you're in need of a good book to read...you can't go wrong with this one. Happy reading!

  • 5 + 1=our family of 6

yesterday we added a new member to our family. our family of five has now been blessed to add rachel to our group. we were all a bit emotional until my uncle darrell announced aaron and his bride, sarah!? what? he was so used to saying aaron, sarah and emily...that when he announced aaron and RACHEL he had a mess up. that would be considered a real life blooper. however, it did make us laugh.

In just a few days Elske Mientjes is coming to stay with us! Last summer I went to Holland for 3 weeks to stay with Martin & Karin Koornstra. When I arrived Martin had brought a girl (Elske) with him so that I could have a friend while I was there. It's so cool that after 1 year, she is getting  ready to experience what I went through. She is coming by herself across the ocean to experience the unknown. It just amazes me how the Lord works. I love how He helps make connections and friendships that can only happen when He is involved. I can't wait to see what else is in store!
